Building Information Modeling (BIM)
is a design technique that uses specific software to create a shareable, three-dimensional model. This model and associated output reports are created through a combination of graphical and non-graphical data and are used to demonstrate the entire
building life cycle
, including construction and operation. Erdman Anthony's 3D models encompass building geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, and quantities and properties of building components.
There are several advantages to using Erdman Anthony's BIM design system:
Improved
visualization
for owner during and after design
for entire project team as a coordination model
for contractors in bidding, coordination, and as a model
Time
savings
design and place items once
facilitate communication among project team
increase project deliverable turnaround
improve productivity with easy information retrieval
Money
savings
reduce rework through interference detection
generate materials management reports easily and accurately
provide data used by other applications or analyses
Erdman Anthony has successfully executed several projects using BIM technology. To date, these projects include:
Eastman Kodak Footprint Reduction Program (multiple projects)
Binghamton University Science Building Addition
University at Buffalo Kapoor Hall Rehabilitation and Upgrades
JP Morgan Chase Chiller Replacement
BioWorks Relocation and Consolidation
Zotos International Technology Center
Wegmans Food Markets Asbuilt Documentation for a Remodel
Wegmans Food Markets New Store Designs
University at Buffalo Cary Farber Sherman MEP Infrastructure Replacement
Cornell University Olin Library Renovation
Monroe County Chilled Water Upgrade
SCI Coal Township Hot/Chilled Water Loop Design
