Erdman Anthony provided controls and mechanical design services for the Monroe County Facilities Management Department. The project included a Controls System upgrade, piping modifications, and new secondary pumping configurations to upgrade a District Chiller Plant serving six facilities in downtown Rochester New York. The chiller Plant consists of three 1100 Ton Chillers, one 550 Ton chiller, three secondary loop pumps and six tertiary pumps.

Survey Laser Scanning was used to collect an accurate 3-D As-Built model (seen here) of the finished project. "Point cloud" data was captured from multiple locations within the plant and registered together using targets that could be seen in adjoining scans.

Data that can be extracted from the point clouds includes 3-D AutoCAD lines, shapes, and points.
