On March 24, Mayor Malik D. Evans, other government officials, and numerous stakeholders gathered for the groundbreaking of the Bull’s Head Revitalization Street improvement project, a key component in a high-profile effort to spark redevelopment in southwest Rochester.
The project will transform the area, which sits at the convergence of West Main, Brown, and Genesee streets and West and Chili avenues, through arterial realignments, reconstructed and signalized intersections, full-depth roadway reconstruction, multimodal improvements, utility replacements, and streetscape enhancements. The project’s goals include increasing mobility and safety while creating a more welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Erdman Anthony is providing construction inspection services for the project and also served as the engineer of record for the design, which will establish continuity, from design through construction and implementation of the city’s vision.
Erdman Anthony project manager Rob Schiller, PE, adds, “The Bull’s Head revitalization street improvement project is a major investment in addressing critical operational and safety issues at one of Rochester’s most important gateways. As a key convergence point for several major streets, these improvements will create a safer, more connected, and more functional area for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and the surrounding community.”
