Date Released: March 20, 2026

Earlier this month, Erdman Anthony transportation engineer Kara Rosenthal, PE, PTOE, visited an elementary school in Rochester to read from “Girls Can Be Engineers: Hannah’s Dream Tower,” a children’s book by Jamila H. Lindo that follows the main character learning about teamwork, planning, and structural integrity from her engineer mother.

During the gathering, Kara showed photos of skyscrapers in Rochester and New York City and led students through balance exercises that had them pretending to be tall buildings. She also described typical responsibilities engineers have and how foundations support structures.

Kara has worked at Erdman Anthony since 2021. She is a member of the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers. She is also the marketing coordinator for Rochester Area Triathletes.
