Foodlink Voice of the Community

Foodlink, the Rochester, New York-based nonprofit whose mission is to combat food insecurity, has made recent strides to expand its operations and community outreach, including owning and operating a community farm that has become a hub of urban agriculture. The food grown at the 2.3-acre farm on Lexington Avenue supports the nonprofit’s curbside market, meal program, café, and educational outreach.

Erdman Anthony provided surveying services for the farm’s site and five adjacent lots, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design for the farm’s 2,800-square-foot Edible Education Center and 3,000-square-foot greenhouse.

Erdman Anthony has helped Foodlink with other major projects, including leading the architectural and engineering (A/E) design team for the additions of a 3,600-square-foot cooled receiving area and a 2,700-square-foot cooler at the nonprofit’s headquarters and distribution center on Mount Read Boulevard in Rochester. That project also involved a 21,000-square-foot renovation and exterior improvements for parking, vehicle circulation, and dock access.

Watch this video about how Erdman Anthony’s solutions have helped Foodlink continue to battle hunger and deliver life-changing programs in its 10-county service area.
