McKinley Parkway Rehabilitation

About the Project

The Erie County Department of Public Works is advancing the McKinley Parkway Rehabilitation Project to improve a 2.04-mile segment of McKinley Parkway (CR 204) between Quinby Drive and Southwestern Boulevard (US Route 20). The project will address existing pavement deficiencies through resurfacing and will place shoulder backup material along the interior shoulders to reinforce pavement edges. New underdrain will be installed in targeted sections of the center median to enhance subsurface drainage and reduce water-related pavement deterioration.

At the intersection of McKinley Parkway, Bayview Road, and Sowles Road, the existing spanwire traffic signal will be removed and replaced with a mast arm signal design. Pedestrian accessibility will be improved by reconstructing sidewalk curb ramps at this intersection to meet ADA and PROWAG requirements. Additional pedestrian enhancements and minor signal upgrades will be made at the intersection with the Tops and NAPA Auto Parts driveways.
