Status: Completed
Construction Cost: $2.9 Million
The Project
The Village of Royal Palm Beach selected Erdman Anthony to handle site design for a park slated to be built on a vacant 5-acre parcel bordered on its east side by roughly 400 feet of canal waterfront. The project involved providing conceptual and final engineering plans for water service, sewer service, paving, grading, drainage, and recreation-related features.
Our firm also provided construction-phase and permitting-related services for the project.
Features/Solutions
Specific features in the final design included:
• Two courts each for basketball, pickleball, and tennis; one beach volleyball court
• A multipurpose field and a playground
• Restrooms, two pavilions, and a shade structure
• Water service lines to the restrooms and the pavilions for hose bibs and water fountains
• A sewer service line for the restrooms
• Sidewalks, walkways, a small retaining wall, and a parking lot
Impacts
The new park provides more opportunities for recreation and resident interaction, and its addition to the canal system lets the public travel easily from one park to another via boat, kayak, or canoe.
