Daily Table
Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Design
Location: Roxbury, MA
Owner: Daily Table
Status: Completed
The Project
Daily Table is a nonprofit grocery chain that serves Boston-area communities whose residents often rely on SNAP benefits. The chain selected Erdman Anthony to provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design at its two-level, 7,000-square-foot location in Roxbury.
Features/Solutions
Charged with salvaging and reusing existing systems whenever possible, our firm’s plans also:
- Avoided overloading existing services during the conversion from office space to food market
- Adjusted sprinkler systems for changes in hazard ratings
- Designed for donated equipment, even if it varied from design assumptions
- Designed mechanical systems in multiple configurations to accommodate replacement or reuse
- Designed plumbing waste systems with alternates for vacuum-type condensate systems if destructive demolition revealed obstructions to gravity drainage
- Minimized disruption to government offices operating above and below the store throughout the project
Impacts
Our firm’s MEP design has helped Daily Table continue its mission of selling high-quality donated, discounted, and rescued food.
