High-speed internet concept with fiber optic cables and light trails

Communication Infrastructure Expansion

Survey

Location: Various

Owner: Multiple Telecommunication Providers

Status: Ongoing

The Project:

As demand for high-speed internet connectivity grows, telecommunication providers are tasked with expanding the geographic availability of their services. These providers rely greatly on precise information related to highway and property boundaries, local topography, and the locations of existing utilities to develop network expansion plans and gain regulatory approval.

Features/Solutions:

Erdman Anthony’s survey team has completed over 400 field surveys (project assignments) along more than 320 miles of highways that run through towns, cities and rural areas. The deliverables precisely document the necessary topographic information, boundaries, easements, and other utilities. The telecommunication providers then use the mapping and other survey data to complete permit applications and other design documents required for the planning and approval process.

Impacts:

Consumers have more options for fast, reliable internet as fiber optic services are offered in new geographic areas.
