Foodlink Community Farm
Survey and Design
Location: Rochester, NY
Owner: Foodlink, Inc.
Status: Completed
The Project:
Erdman Anthony provided surveying services and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design for a 2.3-acre urban farm owned and operated by Foodlink, a public health nonprofit that serves 10 upstate New York counties. Establishing the farm was a key part of the nonprofit’s ongoing infrastructure improvement project that began in 2025.
Features/Solutions:
Our survey professionals documented the farm’s site and five adjacent lots that Foodlink bought to expand its operations. We also provided MEP design for two new structures at the farm: a 3,000-square-foot greenhouse and the 2,800-square-foot Edible Education Center, which hosts nutrition education workshops and community events.
Impacts:
The farm has become one of the largest locations for urban agriculture in the City of Rochester, and the food grown there now supports the nonprofit’s curbside market, meal program, café, and educational outreach. Plus, roughly 100 families, including New Americans eager to share their food traditions, have the chance to tend to the farm’s community garden.
