Perinton Park
Boundary Survey
Location: Fairport, NY
Owner: Town of Perinton
Status: Completed
The Project
A local hub for outdoor recreation, Perinton Park borders the Erie Canal and features access to the Empire State Trail for runners and bikers and water access for rowers. The park also has tennis courts, a basketball court, and a skatepark, as well as a playground and pavilions.
Although the park has been a staple in the community for decades, the land was owned by the New York State Canal Corporation and leased by the Town of Perinton. When the Canal Corporation began the process of transferring ownership of 15 acres of the land to Perinton, the town needed the property surveyed to locate the exact boundaries, identify encroachments and easements, and mark the locations of the park’s features.
Features/Solutions
Erdman Anthony’s survey team researched deeds, surveyed the property, and conducted a boundary analysis. The team then developed legal descriptions of the property and compiled a map with precise locations of the park’s features and boundaries.
Impacts
The Town of Perinton now has the clear data and legal property descriptions needed for the land conveyance process.
