In a COVID-delayed ceremony held in September 2021, Erdman Anthony received a 2019 Outstanding Highway Engineering Award from the Mid-Allegheny Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) in the large-project category (greater than $2.5 million) for work on PennDOT District 10-0’s US 119 Three Bridges project in Indiana County, PA.

The project involved improvements to a 1-mile section of US 119, including the replacement of a bridge over Yellow Creek and the removal of two bridges. The bridge removals were made possible by a reconfiguration of several side roads to retain access to the highway.

Erdman Anthony served as prime consultant for preliminary engineering on the project and for a significant portion of final design, which improves safety and mobility through the Center Township and Homer City Borough communities in western Pennsylvania.
