Engineering Project Case Studies | Erdman Anthony

Construction Inspection

Phase I

Erdman Anthony inspected the construction of four miles of a new section of divided highway on U.S. Route 15 (the future I-99), from Watson Creek to Presho, in Lindley, NY. The highway was built on a new alignment and included clearing and grubbing, 4.5 million cubic meters of earthwork, rock excavation, drainage, asbestos removal, demolition of 25 buildings, retaining walls, service roads, and new concrete pavement. Our firm provided the office engineer and six inspectors. Key concerns were erosion control and stormwater-pollution prevention.

Phase II

Erdman Anthony inspected the new construction of three crossings over the highway. These crossings involved six bridges and their corresponding tie-ins. The bridges (northbound and southbound lanes) cross over the interstate at Watson Creek Road (two spans), Morgan Creek Road (four spans), and Stowell Road (one span).
