Engineering Project Case Studies | Erdman Anthony

MEP and Energy Efficiency Services

Erdman Anthony provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and energy analysis services for the rehabilitation of SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Hall. Set into a slope, the former library has a steel frame, reinforced concrete decks, and a brick-and-limestone exterior. The goal of renovating the 47,600-gross-square-foot building was to transform it into purpose-designed space for the business, economics, and political science departments and the Division of University Advancement.

Erdman Anthony also provided energy modeling services during the schematic design phase to compare various systems. During the design phase, our firm adapted to owner changes and implemented them into subsequent layout and design.

Sustainable Design Impact

The replacement of fossil fuel-based HVAC systems with electric ground-source heat pumps eliminates reliance on fossil fuels.
