Engineering Project Case Studies | Erdman Anthony

Design and Construction Observation

The City of West Palm Beach constructed a new building for its housing and community development department. The facility provides important functional space to the department and to the Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach County.

Erdman Anthony’s team prepared the site civil construction plans, including the stormwater pollution prevention plan, utility plans and details, fire protection plan, site grading plan, drainage plans, and paving plans and details. We also processed the permits for the project through the city utility and engineering departments, the health department, and Palm Beach County right-of-way. Our engineers observed construction and completed the project with engineering certifications.

The project included asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, and paver bricks. The project was essentially landlocked, and the drainage overflow was directed to one of the city culverts connecting Gaines Park to the Culver Canal. That effort involved televising the large culvert with the use of a diver to confirm that the existing pipe was structurally suitable.
