Engineering Project Case Studies | Erdman Anthony

Concrete Pavement Restoration

This project repaired concrete pavement joints on Interstate 90 in the 8-lane free section in Buffalo, NY. Broken joints were cut out, removed, and replaced with 13-inch-thick precast-concrete panels that were doweled in place and grouted. All work was done at night by closing three of the four lanes in both directions.

The work also included diamond grinding for smoothness, replacement of bridge joints, substructure concrete repairs, partial-depth concrete repairs, joint sealing, and additional concrete repairs at the Williamsville toll barrier.

Erdman Anthony supplied the project engineer and three inspectors and completed all inspection records and project documents.
