THE PROJECT A 2.75-mile segment of SR 7, from Broward/Palm Beach County Line to North of SR 808/Glades Road in Palm Beach County, was part of a FDOT District 4 in-house mobility improvement project that required lighting and signal upgrades.
Erdman Anthony was selected to provide signalization and lighting design, as well as post-design services for the project.
FEATURES/SOLUTIONS The signalization scope included upgrading the SR 7-Boca Woods Lane intersection to mast arms, replacing signal controllers and video-detection equipment at all signalized intersections within the project limits, and installing signal interconnect to eliminate gaps in the existing signal communication network.
Lighting work included replacing existing light poles impacted by widening for bike lanes throughout the corridor for mobility improvement.
IMPACTS Lighting retrofits were added at all signalized intersections within the project’s limits to meet FDOT’s lighting design standards for improved safety.
